Central Library

Shobhit University has an excellent library for the benefit of students, faculties and researchers. Central Library has a large collection of books covering various branches of Engineering and Technology, Science and Humanities and its related fields. It is fully Air Conditioned and automated. The library is well protected with fire alarms and CCTV Security systems.

Membership
University library membership is open to the faculty members, students and research scholars of the university campus. Besides these members, the library also serves to the consultant members coming from the different educational Institution and Industries.

Collection
In the matter of acquisition of Books University policy has been to acquire books of instant relevance and books important for advance research in the subject concerned. The purpose has been to build up a collection of books to fulfil the teaching learning and research requirements.

Periodicals:
Periodicals are an important source of research and advance teaching. The library has subscribed to various periodicals, 29 magazines and 10 Newspapers.

Reprography Services:
The library has one reprography unit. The library provides this facility to all faculty members and research scholar in the university at nominal cost of 0.40 paisa per copy.
Readers’ services include issuing books, location of reading material, Inter-library loan, Initiation of fresher’s, assistance in the use of reference tools and catalogue.

Services:
Library is open for 12 hours on all working days and for 7 hours on holidays. It observes working from 8 A.M. to 12 in the Night on all working days and from 8 A.M to 8 P.M on holidays. Some of the important services provided by the library are:

Finance:
University budget allocations are assured sources of library finance.

E-Resource Centre:
DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerised services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible. Student can access DELNET e-Resource to read e-books and e-journals.
The NDL has more than 2,40,000 monographs and bound volumes of periodicals. The library’s catalogue of books and other reading material can be accessed through library intranet and Internet (OPAC). The library catalogue is searched by author, title, publisher, keyword and year of publication.

Shodhganga:
a reservoir of Indian theses is a digital repository of theses and dissertations submitted to universities in India. Students can access thesis for the reference from the repository.

Automation of Library:
The project of fully computerization of Central library has been taken as the priority of the library. Library is fully automated using Bar Code Technology in its lending operations.
