Program Overview
The degree is suited to students who wish to pursue a career in which knowledge of law and legal system is of major importance. A student passing his LL.B. Examination is deemed to be a graduate in law. It is a 3 years course comprising of six semesters.
Course-Curriculum
We're the first to admit it: Learning the law is not easy. You have to sharpen a range of skills, including analysis, writing, and persuasion. You also have to learn a canon of precedents, concepts, theories, and procedures.
As a strong academic community, committed to our students, we have designed curricula that produce broadly educated lawyer with strong Constitutional background and we have developed an approach to teaching the law that is both challenging and supportive in compliance with the recommendations and guidelines of Bar Council of India.
Objective
- Develop an understanding in the students as to the various legal aspects.
- Orientation of students to legal studies from the point of view of basic concepts of law and legal system.
- Develop the practical knowledge of the art of communication and client interviewing skills.
- Make a student professionally competent to apply for legal posts in the Govt. as well as private sectors.
LL.B. Course Beneficial?
- Degree in Law not only offers just employment, but it also provides a person with an instrument to fight against inequality and wrong deeds of all types in society.
- There is a certain amount of prestige with this profession as Law is the base of the society and a vital weapon of social change. Nobody messes with a Lawyer because that person himself deals with Lawlessness.
- Lawyers can find employment opportunities in both public and private sector organizations. Most Lawyers prefer to become an advocate and practice law as a profession. Central/State Government jobs are also open to Lawyers. They can be appointed as Judges of various courts, as Attorney and Solicitor General, as Public Prosecutor and in Defence, Tax and Labour departments. Moreover, Lawyer can also work as legal counsel and legal advisers for firms, organizations, and families.
Eligibility Criteria
- Admission to LL.B. Program is open to a student who holds a Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration with minimum 50% marks from a recognized University. Candidates having valid Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) / SUNET score may also apply directly for admission.
