Human Rights Training Program

by Shobhit University  |   Law & Constitutional   |   Event Human Rights Training Program

The philosophers of the Vedic period believed that Human Rights were based on mankind's increasing demand for life in which the inherent dignity and worth of each human being deserved to receive respect and protection. The “Rig Veda" declared all human beings are equal and respect the dignity of human rights. The “Atharva Veda” advocated that one person's right is another person's duty.

Although the modern notion of human rights emerged during the 18th century, it was 1948, that the story began in earnest, with the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN general assembly. The declaration arose from the ashes of the second world war and aimed to launch a new, brighter era of international relations.

Inaugurated a NHRC sponsored One day 'Human Rights Training Program' organised by School of Law & Constitutional Studies, Shobhit University, Meerut.

Gracious presence of Justice Mr PC Pant, Member, NHRC; Justice Mr Rajesh Tondon, Chairman, Law Commission of Uttarakhand; Shri Anup Varshney, JS & LC, Ministry of Law & Justice, Govt. of India, and other wonderful speakers made the training very meaningful!
