1. Structure of the Essay Competition:

• The Competition is divided into Under Graduate and Post Graduate category. Post Graduate category includes students Studying in PGP/Post Graduate Diplomas in Management/MBA. And, Under Graduate d Category includes students registered for any kind of undergraduate course. The students should be registered in any of the above-mentioned courses in India. Participants are required to submit a SELF ATTESTED copy of their student Identity-Card along-with the essay.
• The Essay Competition consists of written submissions which are delivered online to the given email of the Shobhit University i.e sbs@shobhituniversity.ac.in within the 10 days timeline (April 30, 2020).
• Only one paper per participant can be submitted.
• All the essays will be blindly evaluated by the Hon’ble Jury members and the winners will be declared by May 05, 2020.
• The cash prize will be awarded to first, second and third winner of the contest
• Participation fee : Rs 200/-

2. Procedures for the Written Submissions

• The Written submissions have to be sent latest by 30th April, 2020, in electronic format only (Word file/PDF ) to sbs@shobhituniversity.ac.in
• Only original essays will be considered for the competition. Previously published essays are therefore excluded. Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of the essay.
• Length of Essay: The essay shall be no longer than 1500 words, footnotes included. Essays shorter than 500 words are not encouraged. It may include illustrations, tables and figures, as needed.
• Format Requirement.
  • Typed on a A4 size electronic page
  • Font size shall be 12 points, Times New Roman
  • Interlinear Space
  • Margins of 1 inch on top, bottom and both sides
• Inclusions in the Essay submissions.
  • It should include name of the Participant, Address, E-mail ID, Contact Number, Name of the College/University with address and email id and Title of the essay.
  • List of References and List of Abbreviations shall also be submitted along-with the written submissions.
• Citations:
  • Participants may use any recognised style of referencing system and this must be consistently used through the Submission.
  • The List of References shall include all cited texts throughout the Submission.
• Scoring of the essay:
  

  Following criteria may be used in assessing the documents:

  • Quality of Content and Originality: 65%
  • Clarity: 15%
  • Structure: 10%
  • Overall Comprehension: 10%
• Wards and relatives of Jury members are INELIGIBLE to participate in this competition.

3. Prizes:

• Shobhit University will honour each of the winner from senior and junior categories with cash prizes as under:
  • The winner of the competition: Rs. 11000/-
  • First Runner Up of the competition: Rs. 5000/-
  • Second Runner Up of the competition: Rs. 2100/-
  • Consolation Prizes: Rs. 1100/- each (Up to five prizes for each Category, viz. UG & PG; depending upon the number of entries)
  • All participants of accepted entries will be awarded a certificate of participation by the Shobhit University. Names of the winners will be published on Shobhit University website. Separate intimation will also be sent to each of the winner.
  • The winners will be asked to show their original photo identity card at the time of receiving of the prizes.
