B.Tech Electrical Engineering

Objectives

  • The department of Electrical Engineering provides strong background to the Engineering students to cope up with the needs of emerging technology at National and International levels.
  • To provide technical knowledge, skill and competence to identify, comprehend and solve problems in industry, research and academics related to power, information, electrical and electronic hardware.
  • To prepare and inspire the students to become future researchers / scientists with innovative ideas for a sustainable development.
  • Well Equipped Laboratories are there with good infrastructure to provide the realistic and practical knowledge to the students.
  • Courses are designed in a way to open up new vistas of research in the field of engineering and technology.
  • To mould the students to improve their technical and intellectual capabilities through life-long learning process so as to become good teachers, either in a class or to juniors in industry.

Scope of Employment

  • Electrical engineers deals with the development and help us to maintain electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control system equipment and components. Their work focuses on: Economy, Quality, • Reliability, Safety, Sustainability
  • Electrical Engineers are needed in all manufacturing units; all major companies of public and private sector such as Electricity Boards, Large Scale Industries, Manufacturing Plants, Power Corporations, Hydro-Electricity sector are continuously in need of Electrical Engineers as Graduate Engineer Trainees (GET) and Management Trainees (MT) for their projects.
  • Many premier educational and research institution regularly intake electrical engineers as junior research fellow (JRF) and senior research fellow (SRF) to work on their research projects.
  • Graduates can find job prospects in design industries, production plants, natural gas plants, petroleum, solar as well as in steel & chemical plants.

Students Outcomes

  • This course enhances the knowledge of basic engineering, mathematics, science which can be applied to the appropriate discipline. This will provide them an ability to analyze a problem, identify and solve practical problems involving electrical signals and power.
  • Graduates are involved in many projects related with concept and design, through implementation, testing and handover.
  • Graduates are also involved in maintenance programs.
  • Graduates having technical knowledge are trained for project management and multitasking.
  • Graduates have commercial awareness with additional attributes, such as team leadership or management skills, are incorporated during the session.
  • Possess an appreciation of professional, societal, environmental and ethical issues and proper use of renewable resources.

Polytechnic Diploma – Electrical

Objective

  • Students will be productive in the professional practice of electrical engineering and related fields. They will obtain employment appropriate to their background, interests, and education and will advance in their career.
  • Students employed within engineering fields will demonstrate technical competence in identifying, formulating, analyzing, and creating engineering solutions.
  • Students will engage in life-long learning demonstrated by advanced education/degrees, professional development activities, and/or other career-appropriate options.
