Admission of Diploma Holders :

Although engineering diploma programs are conceived as terminal in nature, some flexibility has to be built in to enable the meritorious amongst diploma holders to obtain Engineering degrees. There are instances of diploma holders pursing an Engineering program and performing better not only in academic careers but also in the jobs.

• A student who has acquired a diploma in Engineering through a minimum of three years of institutional study, after 10+(Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination) will be considered to be academically equivalent to a student who has passed the first year of the four year Engineering degree program for which the qualifying examination is of the 12+ level.

• For being eligible to seek lateral entry to an Engineering Degree program at the second year/ third semester level, a candidate must have passed the diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch with a minimum of 60 percent marks in the aggregate. Only candidates fulfilling these conditions would be eligible for selection of diploma holders for Lateral entry to degree programs.

Admission of  B. Sc. Graduates :

Science education in the country suffers primarily due to lack of employment opportunities after completion of degree courses.  This trend has affected the science education in the country as only few students opt for the science stream.  In order to provide science students avenues for employment opportunities after completion of graduation, science graduates are permitted to join Engineering courses in the second year along with the diploma holders through lateral entry.

• For being eligible to seek lateral entry to an Engineering Degree program at second year/ third semester level,a candidate must have passed the Degree in Science (B.Sc.), with Mathematics as a subject and with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Only candidates fulfilling these conditions would be eligible for selection of B.Sc. graduates for Lateral entry to an Engineering Degree program.

Admission of Migration Candidates :

• The University Equivalence Committee shall examine the courses studied by a candidate in the 1st year of B.Tech/BE program. If the equivalence is more than 75% as established by the Equivalence Committee, the candidate can be permitted to seek admission in the 2nd year of the B.Tech. program, provided that candidate fulfills the eligibility requirements of Shobhit University and submits “No Objection and Character Certificate” from the previous University/Institution from where student has passed 1st year of the program.

SU–Adarsh Scholarship Scheme : B.Tech Lateral Entry

* Continuation of the scholarship in the third, fourth year of the program is subject to obtaining corresponding CGPA in the previous year examinations without any back paper.

• The counseling for admission to B.Tech. Lateral Entry will be held from June 4th - 10th, 2012 at University Campus.
  
  
• Admission/Selection in the B.Tech. program at the second year/ third semester level will be based on academic merit.
  
  
• Girl candidates / Wards of Defence Persons shall be given an additional weightage of 5%.
  
  
• Seats/Branches in the above programs are allotted on the basis of preferences indicated at the time of counseling, in order of merit. Candidates must go through instructions. Ignorance of laid down instruction(s) shall be responsibility of the candidate.
  
• Decision of the Admission Committee in all matters shall be binding and final.
